The Stage II proposal for Ph.D. in Aerospace Studies, a joint program between aviation and space studies departments of the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences, was approved by the UND’s Graduate Committee on Jan 31, 2011. This is a major step in the rigorous approval process - the proposal will now make its way through to the University Curriculum Committee. The proposal will then go through the Dean’s Council, Provost, President, and the State Board of Higher Education. I believe we are in good shape to receive a final go ahead before the end of this semester. The two departments will then determine an appropriate start date for the implementation of the program.
